Monday 4th September saw the start of our new Autumn term and with lots planned, the staff were as excited as the students!
We welcomed many new members to all our groups and everyone of whom decided that they loved Musicality and would be joining permanently, so we look forward to nurturing their skills over the next few years!
Our Mini Musicality class had heaps of fun, playing drama games and learning our Mini Musicality warm up routine, whilst our juniors learnt a song from the hit musical ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. For 15 minutes of each class, our junior and youth companies join together in order to improve transition and work together on show numbers. You can see a few of them here, very excited to be back!
One of the most energetic classes on our first night back was our Youth company as they had a Rock ‘n Roll night, learning a great number from the Disney musical ‘Teen Beach Movie’. They worked so hard that they had to have a lie down…a perfect chance to talk through some breathing techniques with them!
The evening included a FREE ballet trial for any student who hadn’t yet tried our ballet classes and this proved to be a great success with many boys having a go and really enjoying! It ‘turned out’ that in actual fact, it was the boys that displayed the most natural flare, especially when it came to footwork!
In other rooms, we also held ballet classes for our regular ballet students aged 10-12 and 13-Adult. This week they concentrated on ‘strength and flexibility’, vital skills for any dancer or performer.
So a busy night for all our younger students, but really enjoyable and we can’t wait to do it all again next week!
